Carol Olwell
Studio 25
Carol Olwell was born in Utah, majored in Studio Art at Stanford, and has worked in many media ever since; lithography, drawing, printmaking, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, book design and now fabrics. She has two California teaching credentials, one to teach art in high school. The only major exhibit she has had was of photographs at the de Young Museum in 1976; they were pictures taken during a street by street documentation of all the Victorian houses in San Francisco. These photos also became part of a book titled A GIFT TO THE STREET, done in collaboration with Judith Waldhorn. Her other books include Women of the West, in collaboration with Cathy Luchetti, and Gardening from the Heart: Why Gardeners Garden.
She is thrilled to have a space at Mark Drive Studios and a chance to work undisturbed. She lives in San Rafael and has a daughter in college.
